Three precincts comprising bungalow lots and exclusively designed bungalows and semi-detached homes are orchestrated in the plan to be in sync with the eco-system, with dedicated walkways and bicycle crossings, connecting one garden to another and one precinct to the other, subscribing to the “Green Street” concept where the telephone, electrical and other utility cables are hidden from sight. It’s pleasing to the eyes and every soul. But more than just inspiring aesthetics, it’s a better lifestyle created in harmony with nature’s best… Living close to nature is hard to come by these days, especially with the scarcity of land. But what SP Setia Bhd had done (or undone) is to unravel that equation by enhancing the livability of Shah Alam.
Savor 4,000 sunflowers blooming in the Sunburst Plateau at the Summer Gardens or the Garden of Fountains – eight fountains altogether – springing at the sight of dawn; you may even stumble upon ducks as you tarry along its creek. Such plans only conceivable when 25% of prime land is set aside for Mother Nature. “…it was just a prototype…Now, we are able to do so for every home...”
Future phases of homes in Setia Eco Park will each have Building Integrated Photovoltaic systems and rainwater harvesting systems installed to minimize environmental impact. According to Koe Peng Kang, Chief Executive Officer of Bandar Eco-Setia Sdn Bhd, “It was just a prototype at the show village as the technology was rather new when first introduced in 2006. Now, proven for its stability and efficiency, we are able to do so for every home and to conserve the environment even more.” At the heart of Setia Eco Park is Green Canopy Lifestyle-Biz Park, comprising neighborhood shopping village and residents’ clubhouse. Facilities such as the Tenby International and Private Schools, tennis courts, swimming pool, football fields, and badminton and squash courts are already in place to serve the residents, even a Dog Park will be created in the future. The development onset has its naysayers for being such a high-end development at the outback of Klang. But such notion is thumped when Setia Eco Park was bestowed Master Plan Category Winner in the Prix d’Excellence Award 2007. Its endeavor was further affirmed when Precinct 3, its first completed phase, won the Residential Low Rise Category in the FIABCI Malaysia Property Award 2010. Bungalow lands which were once RM65 per sq ft are now transacting at about RM200 per sq ft, Koe says. This largest high-end gated and guarded enclave in the South East Asia has now about 600 households and is expected to grow to 1,000 this year, and 3,000 in six years. More surprises and excitement are yet to come as the anticipated Setia City Mall, an integrated commercial hub, is targeted to open end of this year. Just as how winning the Prix d’Excellence is a great recognition for Koe and the SP Setia team, the recent accolade clinched is a testament of a dream turning into reality. And it’s just the beginning… The focus now, Koe says, is to perfect and improve on what they have already achieved and to transfer the concept, technology and know-how’s to other projects such as the Setia Eco Gardens in Johor and Setia Eco Lakes in Vietnam. Here’s to Setia Eco Park for recreating and restoring what is close to the heart of nature. Setia Eco Park, Shah Alam
